2/15/12 Announcing the 7th Annual Student Film Festival!
This year's festival, to be held sometime in early April of 2012, will be a return to the same format as the first 5 festivals. The festival will feature new and original works by students at the College of Charleston, at both the undegraduate and graduate level. Submissions will be judged by a panel of Film Studies roster faculty. Prizes will be awarded to the top three films. The deadline for submissions will be announced shortly. Please check back frequently for updates.


8/15/11 The 6th Annual Student Film Festival is this Wednesday, November 30 at 7:00pm in Septima Clark Auditorium (ECTR 118)
This year's festival will be a retrospective of the first five years of student filmmaking here at the College of Charleston. The event will feature films by the winners of previous film festivals, as well as a few other surpirses. Come celebrate with us tomorrow at 7:00pm in ECTR 118.

Congratulations to the winners of the 5th Annual Student Film Festival!
The winners of this year's festival are: My
les Walsh (1st prize) for "Relativity"; Nichole Lagrone (2nd prize) for "Thailand"; and Stephen Massar (3rd prize) for "My Band." Thanks again to all who submitted their films. This was our biggest audience turnout yet, and we can't wait until we see you again next year. START FILMING NOW!!!

The 5th Annual Student Film Festival official selections have been made!
Included this year are the following films: Relativity (dir. Myles Walsh); ¡Viva Izquierda! (dir. Lyvers/Townes); Criminal to Civil War, Top Museum, A Day in Charleston (dir. Michael Parks); My Band (dir. Stephen Massar); Thailand (Nichole Lagrone). Plus other bonus treats, including a sneak peak at
The Republic of Pete, directed by College of Charleston's own Jesse Berger (winner of top prize at the 4th Annual Student Film Festival). Join us tomorrow at 8:00pm in Physicians Auditorium.

You can download an official entry form here. Completed entry forms, along with a hard copy of your film (in DVD format), can be dropped off at the Film Studies Program office, 72 George St., room 300. Or, you can arrange a hand-off by emailing the Student Film Club president, Taylor Townes. Deadline for submissions in March 17.
1/27/10 The 5th Annual Student Film festival is scheduled for 7:00pm on Wednesday, March 31. The festival will be held in Physicians Auditorium. It's not too late to make your film, but START FILMING NOW!!! For more information, contact Student Film Club president Taylor Townes.
